ZNSproject and The Field of Giants

ZNSproject APS/ETS starts a new collaboration which, through Art, embraces environmental and social problems, particularly in the Terre d'Arneo affected by Xylella .

The Campo dei Giganti, located in the village of Boncore (agro di Nardò) close to the Ionian coast of Salento is the work of Land Art born from the visionary intuition of the artist Ulderico Tramacere.

With the start of the collaboration with the ZNS project, Il Campo dei Giganti < /i>becomes an Artistic Residence: Artists of different origins and backgrounds are invited to interact in dialogue with the Land Art work and environmental issues. His White Giants (the secular olive trees decimated by Xylella), already mapped for their historical-cultural value, are the object of this artistic operation which has made them sculptural monuments of memory of a battered territory that does not want to remain a museum of remembrance but become a place of identity and rebirth.

In this perspective, the collaboration with ZNS project, already active in the field of Artistic Residences, manifests the programmatic desire to create a place of living community, a cultural pole that knows how to talk to the territory and leave open spaces to evolve through good practices capable of combining Art, in all its forms, and environmental urgency. The operation started is neither obvious nor easy, on the contrary it represents a challenge, for its organizers but also for the artists who from time to time will try their hand at a mammoth work, in progress, which already speaks for itself and has still so much to say.

We will soon announce the names of the Artists who will follow us in this adventure!

This artistic exchange will leave a trace, a game of experiences and refunds that will be presented to the general public in events organized for the occasion in the summer. Subsequently, the same works will be conveyed to external exhibition venues, such as the space Via Murat Art Container, artist-run space in Palagiano (Ta), an alliance that sanctions the collaboration between ZNS project APS /ETS and The Field of Giants ETS. A common thread that unites the Terre d'Arneo and the Ionian coast of Tarantina.
