The artistic project strong> Gunè | shared textile installation:
Gunè ( comes from the Greek "γυνή", which means "woman" , all that is feminine ) is a tribute to women and the art of weaving. A tapestry to tell the story of the territory, the landscape, women's work and the relationship with the patronal feasts. A textile story that develops slowly, slowly, in dialogue.
Discovering and listening to the territory, Veronica Rastelli will weave plots like a diary embroidered with stories, tales and words; It will evoke our bond with the earth and with the present, trying to reclaim the past to develop, extend and expand it.
“2nd Floor Art Residency” is an open space, experimental, autonomous and independent, of artistic research on the territory, in this case focused on local weaving, and invites those who wish to be part of it by contributing with stories and testimonies.
To complete the itinerary, once again this year there will be Art workshops for children aged 13 to 18 thanks to the project "Cantieri di Dinamismo sociale" - Puglia Region - Notice 2/2017 "Social anti-mafia construction sites: education for active citizenship and improvement of the urban fabric" .

The works will contribute to the realization of the shared textile installation (a collaborative work of several hands and several ages). This creative space will continue beyond the dates indicated: the artist will in fact ask for collaboration from women and citizens, to weave stories and testimonies on local weaving. The final installation will be exhibited on August 19th in piazza Rota.
